Tigers Travel Spotlight 🐯✈️
Mr. Sifuentes from SJH and Mrs. Sifuentes, who will be a first-year teacher at MIGC this fall, had the opportunity to travel through London, Oxford, Normandy, and Paris this week!
Along the way, they visited many iconic landmarks, including the American Normandy Cemetery, Big Ben, and the Eiffel Tower. It was an unforgettable experience filled with history, culture, and incredible memories.

Our CPS Leadership Team came together for a day filled with camaraderie, team-building, and learning. From tackling challenging escape rooms to testing our skills with axe throwing, every activity reinforced the importance of communication, trust, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Beyond the fun and friendly competition, Leadership Day provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships, share ideas, and continue building a culture focused on excellence and serving our students, staff, and community.
A big thank you to everyone who participated and made the day a success. We are energized, inspired, and ready for another great year together!

Mrs. Dobbins (Southside Elementary) had the opportunity to travel alongside her daughter, Kenzie Dobbins (Coweta High School), as Kenzie performed with the Zephyrus Drum & Bugle Corps Color Guard. Watching Kenzie’s dedication, talent, and countless hours of hard work come to life on the field was an unforgettable experience and made every mile of the journey worthwhile.
Their travels took them through Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas, combining performance opportunities with memorable educational experiences. Because learning is always on the agenda, they made special stops at some iconic landmarks, including:

📍 San Antonio River Walk – One of Texas’ most famous cultural destinations
📍 Gruene Hall – The oldest continually operating dance hall in Texas and a legendary live music venue

The Tulsa World recently referred to Drum Corps International as the "NFL of marching bands," and for those involved in the fine arts world, that comparison is no exaggeration. Drum corps is one of the most competitive and demanding performing arts activities in the country.
Zephyrus Drum & Bugle Corps, based in Tulsa, is a premier competitive youth performing arts organization that brings together talented brass, percussion, and color guard performers to deliver high-level musical and visual productions. Membership is earned through a highly competitive audition process, where students must demonstrate exceptional musical ability, marching potential, and commitment.
Those selected dedicate themselves to an intense summer schedule, including 10-hour rehearsals each day for 30 days, before taking their show on the road to compete.
We are proud to recognize five Coweta Public Schools students who earned a spot in the corps and represented our community this summer:

Tigers Travel – New York City
Mrs. Hopper (MIGC) and their family recently traveled to New York City. During their visit, they explored many famous landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Empire State Building, and the 9/11 Memorial. They enjoyed learning about the history of these iconic sites and experiencing them firsthand. The family also visited many other attractions throughout the city. One of the highlights of the trip was taking in the incredible views from the Empire State Building.
Their visit to New York City was a fun, educational, and unforgettable adventure. 🗽🏙️✈️🐅
