Can We Reach You? District Notification Test September 15

Being able to communicate with our families quickly and reliably is important—especially when the information is urgent.

On Tuesday, September 15 at 6:00 PM, Coweta Public Schools will conduct our annual Mass Notification Test. During the test, we will send a districtwide notification to help ensure our communication systems are working properly and that our families are connected.

Before September 15, we encourage every family to make sure you are connected to these important resources:

PowerSchool Parent Portal

The PowerSchool Parent Portal is where families can review and update important student and contact information, complete required forms, make online payments, and access other student information.

Every family should have an active Parent Portal account, regardless of the age or grade of your student.

➡️ Access the PowerSchool Parent Portal: https://powerschool.cowetaps.com

CowetaPS App

The CowetaPS app is our primary tool for school and district communication. It provides news, announcements, alerts, calendars, and messages from Coweta Public Schools—all in one place.

Make sure you are logged in and have notifications enabled so you don't miss important information from your child's school or the district.

➡️ Get connected with CowetaPS: Search for CowetaPS in the Apple or Android store.

Need Help? Our Technology Team Is Here

If you have trouble accessing the PowerSchool Parent Portal, connecting your students, logging into CowetaPS, or getting either service set up, you can now submit a Technology Help Ticket directly to our Technology Team.

You don't have to figure it out on your own. Send us a ticket and we'll help get you connected.

➡️ Submit a Parent Technology Help Ticket:  https://www.cowetaps.org
Click on the Parent/Guardian Tech Ticket button on the black quick launch bar.

Our goal is simple: when Coweta Public Schools needs to communicate with you, we want to make sure we can reach you.

Please take a few minutes before September 15 at 6:00 PM to make sure you're connected and your information is current.

Thank you for helping us keep our Coweta Public Schools community connected.

Chromebook Grace Period Ends Monday — Protect Your Student’s Device

The two-week Chromebook grace period ends Monday.

Families have been given the first two weeks of school to identify and report any existing problems or damage with their student’s school-issued Chromebook. After Monday, students may be responsible for damage to their device that occurs during the school year.

Now is a great time to consider Chromebook insurance.

For a relatively small one-time cost, School Device Coverage can help protect families from a much larger unexpected expense. A Chromebook replacement can cost $218–$358, while coverage is available for $23 for the Chromebook alone or $28 for the Chromebook and charger.

Coverage includes accidental damage, cracked screens, liquid damage, loss and theft, with no deductible. Coverage runs through July 31, 2027.

Purchasing coverage is easy

Parents purchase coverage directly from School Device Coverage online. Please do not send money to your child’s school.

When completing the online form, you do not need to know your student’s Chromebook serial number. Simply enter TBD in the serial number field.

You can enroll online through School Device Coverage:
https://schooldevicecoverage.com/signup

One important reminder: Insurance is designed to cover future incidents. Existing damage or loss that is already present when coverage is purchased is not covered.

A little protection can prevent a big expense

Chromebooks go everywhere with our students, and accidents happen — backpacks get dropped, screens get cracked, and drinks get spilled. Device coverage gives families a simple and affordable way to protect themselves from potentially significant repair or replacement costs during the school year.

If you plan to purchase coverage, we encourage you to do so before an accident happens.

📚 Important Update for Families: SB 1481 and Recess Requirements

Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, Oklahoma Senate Bill 1481 requires elementary students in grades Pre-K through 5th grade to receive at least 40 minutes of daily recess, doubling the previous minimum requirement.

Due to this new law all Elementaries and IGCs will begin school at 8:15 am. This WILL NOT affect the bus schedule or the last bell of the day, more information to come from each school site.
