Fine Arts Friday Spotlight:
Addy Hoover is a Senior in AP Art and Design. She loves art because it is the biggest way she can express herself. Her taste, feelings and thoughts are seen in her personal voice. Her favorite medium is digital art, though she has started to branch out trying new mediums. Addy’s favorite artist is Salvador Dali, who’s Surrealism inspires her and influences the weirder side of art. Addy is very active in the art club and her artwork has been in several competitions.

Full Circle Friday Spotlight: Julie Holmes
Why did you choose to come back to work at Coweta Public Schools?
"I chose to come back to Coweta because Coweta is home. I was a 12-year senior at Coweta High School, and after graduating from college, I knew I wanted to return to a place that values education, faith, and family. I'm now beginning my 27th year of teaching, and I’m proud to say that all 27 years have been with Coweta Public Schools. This is more than just a job—this is home.
One quote that speaks to my heart as a teacher is:
“Teaching isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. Every day I walk into my classroom, I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.”
If you could go back in time and give yourself advice, what would it be?
"If I could go back in time, I would tell myself to trust the journey—even the hard days. There will be moments of doubt, exhaustion, and uncertainty, but each one will shape you into a stronger, more compassionate person. I’d remind myself that growth doesn’t happen overnight, and that the impact you’re making often isn’t visible right away—but it’s there.
I’d also say: “Give yourself grace. You won’t be perfect, and that’s okay. What matters most is showing up with heart, consistency, and a belief in yourself.”
Who left a legacy for you during your time as a student at CPS?
"There isn’t enough space to list all the people who inspired me during my time at CPS. Teachers, coaches, and administrators have each left a lasting legacy in my life. Their influence helped shape not only who I am as a teacher, but who I am as a person.
One story I often share with my students is from my freshman year, when I was struggling in Geometry. I hated it—it didn’t come easy, and I remember sitting in class on the verge of tears. My teacher, Mrs. Linda Wilson, looked me straight in the eye and said, “YOU will be a math teacher!” I laughed at her. Literally, but a few years later, I started teaching 6th-grade math at Coweta Public Schools—and I stayed in that role for 20 years.
Her belief in me, even when I couldn’t see it myself, is a legacy I carry into my classroom every day."

Fine Arts Friday Post!!!!
This past Saturday, we took 8 students to all state band auditions. There are thousands of students from all over the state that audition for these prestigious ensembles, we had several make the third round, but only one made the ensemble. Jenna Harbison made the All State Wind Symphony, the top ensemble that any student can make, sitting 6th chair. Sydney Francis, Chase Dill, and Michael Graunke were all selected as alternates that could be called on in the event that another student can not attend.
We are beyond proud of their accomplishments!
