Annual IT Team Photo Day

The Coweta Public Schools IT team stepped away from their keyboards long enough to take our yearly team photo—no reboot required.

Every day I am so blessed I get to work alongside this dedicated and talented team. Whether they’re untangling tech mysteries or helping a Chromebook find its way back to life, they show up with heart and hustle. Grateful for this crew and all they do! 💻❤️

"The Coweta Public Schools IT team—always ready to fix your tech… or at least tell you to plug it in first. (Director of Technology striking the ‘boss level’ pose.)"

🎉 Full Circle Friday: Jordan Hughes 🎉

Why did you choose to come back to work at Coweta Public Schools?
👉 Coweta is home! I had an amazing experience here as a student, and I wanted to be part of that legacy—and have my family be part of it too.

If you could go back in time and give yourself advice, what would it be?
Slow down and enjoy it. I spent a lot of high school dreaming and preparing for the future (which is great), but I wish I had lived in the present more.

Who left a legacy for you during your time as a student at CPS?
🍎 Mrs. Elliott. I told her I hoped to be a teacher one day, and she was the first to say I’d be a great one—specifically a great English teacher. I’m honored to work alongside her today!

🟠 Full Circle Friday | Rhonda Gilbert

Why did you choose to come back to work at Coweta Public Schools?
"I love my hometown, and the atmosphere here is very different from bigger cities. Coweta has a heart that feels like home."
If you could go back in time and give yourself advice, what would it be?
"Quit worrying about your outward appearance — whether your jeans were baggy or wet from early band practice — and enjoy each day to the fullest!"

Who left a legacy for you during your time as a student at CPS?
"I loved almost all of my teachers, but the ones who truly stood out were Dian Manry (Middle School), Toler and Bear (Band), Mary Ann Meek (5th Grade), and Paula Halfast-Brown (Spanish). They each made a lasting impact on my life."

Mrs. Gilbert’s story is a beautiful reminder that the people and places that shape us often call us back. #FullCircleFriday

Mass Notification Test – Friday, October 10 at 6:00 PM

Coweta Public Schools will be conducting a district-wide mass notification test on Friday, October 10 at 6:00 PM.

The purpose of this test is to ensure we have the correct names and contact information for our students, families, and staff. These notifications are an important tool for keeping you informed during both emergencies and important non-emergency events.

If you do not receive the test notification, please contact your school office to update your information.

Thank you for taking the time to help us confirm our system is working. Your partnership allows us to keep our community connected, informed, and safe.

You may have seen that State Superintendent Ryan Walters has called for a statewide moment of silence tomorrow, Tuesday, September 16, at noon, in remembrance of Charlie Kirk.

Due to the varying schedules across our school sites—including lunch, recess, and passing periods—our district will observe the moment of silence during our regularly scheduled time, as required by state law.

This approach ensures a respectful and quiet environment for student reflection without disrupting the instructional day.

As always, students are free to reflect on any topic of personal significance, including recent tragedies in our country. We will support their right to do so, but we will not direct or suggest the focus of their reflection.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff.

📢 Coweta Public Schools Update – Monday, Sept 15
School will be in session as usual tomorrow. In response to the boil water advisory, we’ve taken extra precautions:
✅ Water fountains will be shut down
✅ Food prep will follow safety guidelines — using boiled or bottled water
✅ Bottled water will be available at each site for students who cannot bring their own
This decision was made with care and caution. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority.
